About Us

Every great idea is born on a toilet. Ours was too.

After a suspiciously cheap midnight gyros, three of us sat on three different toilets in three different districts, all thinking the same thing: if only somebody had warned us.

That's how Fosatós.hu was born. It's like those sites that tell you your bank's app is down. Only here it's your stomach that's down, and the problem isn't the server, it's the mayonnaise.

How it works

  1. You eat it. Anything, anywhere. We don't judge. Your stomach will.
  2. You regret it. Find the place and tap what happened: the runs, throwing up, cramps, or plain rudeness. No sign-up, two clicks, works from the toilet too.
  3. Others get away. When many reports come in for a place in a short time, it spikes on the chart and lands on the front page. Tomorrow someone won't have to sprint home on the tram because of you.

What we believe in

You stay anonymous

No e-mail, no name. Your IP is stored only as an irreversible hash. Nobody will ever know you were “ToiletKing”.

We can't be bought

We don't delete reports for money, pálinka or free lángos. Yes, people have asked. Yes, the lángos sounded tempting.

No spam allowed

Captcha, report limits and human moderation. You can report the same place once every 24 hours. Once is enough.

FAQ

Why “fosatós”?

It's Hungarian for “the place that gives you the runs”. “Gastroenterological incident reporting platform” didn't fit in a domain name, and nobody would remember it.

Is this official? Do you inspect kitchens?

No. We're not the food safety authority and we don't own lab coats. What you see here are user opinions; we just count them. If you suspect serious food poisoning, report it to Nébih too.

I got the runs. Now what?

Drink plenty of fluids, rest, and skip the tripe stew for a while. If you have a high fever, see blood, or don't improve within a day or two, see a doctor. Don't ask the comments for a diagnosis.

What if someone reports out of revenge?

One or two reports won't turn anyone's sticker red; that takes many in a short time. We filter out and delete coordinated fake waves, and old reports fade away on their own.

Why does the site look like a 1970s bathroom?

Because that's where all great thoughts are born, and mustard-colored tiles never go out of style. They just come back now and then.

Enjoy your meal! And if it goes wrong: you know where to find us.
